Meet Matt, the seasoned architect behind the ideas at The Thinkers Blog, where he shares insights from 35+ years of navigating Washington and the world. His career began with two decades in U.S. government service, including senior positions at the White House/National Security Council (under Presidents Clinton and Bush), the intelligence community, and the U.S. Congress.
Transitioning to the private sector, Matt spent a few years doing beltway banditry in the world of government contracting before founding Endsight Consulting in 2011. His firm helps foreign governments enhance their performance and assists international businesses in navigating emerging markets. Drawing on his extensive experience negotiating and structuring deals on both sides of the table, he tackles complex challenges and drives results for both business and government. Matt holds degrees from Brigham Young University’s School of Engineering and Technology and George Washington University’s Elliott School of International Relations. His diverse education and professional background give him a unique ability to apply the precision of an engineer to strategy, negotiations, policy, and international engagements.
On the personal side, Matt finds joy in family adventures with his wife and five grown kids, indulging in long naps, reminiscing about when he could outplay his sons on the court, reading and writing in his personal library, skiing and golfing, and enjoying Jack-in-the-Box tacos.
